See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil in the Café Palaver

Exhibition of paintings in Karlsruhe

The paintings STEPHANundVERENA chose for the exhibition in Karlsruhe, are showing a cross section of pictures they painted together between 2000 and 2007 in their studio in the eifel, a western part of germany, but also during their travel through germany in bavaria and on the northern isle of rügen.

Mostly there is a deeper background behind the colours, because the pictures were made during their stays at special places, where they fit into a conceptional exhibition with one big theme.

The poster of the exhibition shows three aliens instead of the japanese three wise monkeys which are telling the peoples that they don´t want to see their mistakes. Also the realistic painted portrait of an local politician shows that he has the total control over his horse.

The artists brought this colours from portugal and want to enhance the feelings of springtime in Karlsruhe. This series was made for an exhibition in a valley of the Mosel, the Schrumpftal, where they also wanted to bring the sun in. It is always important for STEPHANundVERENA to transport feelings and impressions in their artworks.
